Dear friends,
Welcome to the official website of the Gemmologists Association of Sri Lanka.

This year we are commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the gemmologist’s association of Sri Lanka. The association established in 1970 by the first group of Gemmology Diploma holders passed out from the University of Moratuwa. The first president of the association was Prof. K Kularatnam who was the professor at Department of Geography, University of Colombo.

From that beginning upto now we had a steady growth and our current membership is about four hundred. To celebrate this golden jubilee we are organizing a research symposium, special stamp issue event, special jewels exhibition and an award ceremony.

We have to work in a different environment because of the pandemic situation. Therefore my self and the executive committee need the support of membership and the well wishers to make this year successful.

Gemmologists Association of Sri Lanka is the premier organization in Sri Lanka bringing together all resources to promote and expand the gem industry in Sri Lanka. Its premier objective is research / training & act in an advisory capacity in various matters pertaining to Gemmology.
